Description
Advanced cardiac imaging tools are critical in the management of patients with cardiovascular disease. This conference will present an update regarding cardiac gated MDCT capabilities, imaging protocols and clinical applications. The course is designed to assist participants to apply these techniques, to enhance clinical practice and provide insights on current and future developments. The format is lecture based with question and answer sessions and interactive case review sessions. We are pleased to announce the new venue of this course. It is the recently built Simches Conference Center, which among others includes a large state of the art multimedia high-tech auditorium.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, participants will understand:

  • The applications and current role of cardiac CT in clinical practice.

  • The technical and operational requirements to perform routine cardiac CT exams.

  • The imaging protocols and techniques for coronary CT angiography and coronary plaque detection and assessment of myocardial function and perfusion.
General Information
The Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Department of Continuing Education at Harvard Medical School are pleased to welcome the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) as a co-sponsor of this course. The faculty is comprised of clinicians and scientists from the Harvard teaching hospitals as well as leading national and international outside experts in the field of cardiac imaging.
